It was at this time that Allah ordered the Muslims to pray the five daily prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Almighty Allah had said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-palette-color-1-color has-text-color\"><br><strong>\u201cGlorified (and Exalted) be He (Allah) (above all that evil they associate with Him), Who took<br>His slave Muhammad for a journey by night from AL Masjid al Haram (at Makka) to the<br>farthest mosque (in Jerusalem), the neighborhood whereof We have blessed, order that We might<br>show him (Muhammad) of Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.). Verily, He is the All<br>Hearer, the All Seer.&#8221; (Ch 17:1 Quran)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Abbas Ibn Malik reported that Malik Ibn Sasaa said that Allah&#8217;s Messenger described to them his<br>Night Journey saying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> &#8220;While I was lying in Al-Hatim or Al-Hijr, suddenly someone came to me and cut my body open from here to here.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I asked Al-Jarud<\/strong>, who was by my side, &#8220;What does he mean?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> He said<\/strong>: &#8220;It means from his throat to his public area,&#8221; or said, &#8220;From the top of the chest.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>The Prophet further said<\/strong>, &#8220;He then took out my heart. Then a gold tray of Belief was brought to<br>me and my heart was washed and was filled (with Belief) and then returned to its original place.<br>Then a white animal which was smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey was brought to me.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>(<strong>On this Al-Jarud asked:<\/strong> &#8220;Was it in the Buraq, O Abu Hamza?&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I (Anas) replied <\/strong>in the affirmative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>The Prophet said:<\/strong> &#8220;The animal&#8217;s step (was so wide that it) reached the farthest point within the<br>reach of the animals&#8217; sight. I was carried on it<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"310\" src=\"https:\/\/sunofislam.com\/prophetsofgod\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/heaven1.webp\" alt=\"Miraj - Muhammad's encounter with Adam\" class=\"wp-image-502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sunofislam.com\/prophetsofgod\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/heaven1.webp 620w, https:\/\/sunofislam.com\/prophetsofgod\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/heaven1-300x150.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Miraj_%E2%80%93_Muhammad%E2%80%99s_encounter_with_Adam_Hadith\"><\/span><em>Miraj<\/em> &#8211; Muhammad&#8217;s encounter with Adam (Hadith)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel set out with me till we reached the nearest heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>&#8220;When he asked for the gate to be opened, it was asked, &#8216;Who is it?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel answered<\/strong>, &#8216;Gabriel.&#8217; It was asked, &#8216;Who is accompany you?&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Gabriel replied<\/strong>, &#8216;Muhammad.&#8217; It was asked,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> &#8216;Has Muhammad been called?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel replied<\/strong> in the affirmative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then <strong>it was said<\/strong>. &#8216;He is welcomed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What an excellent visit his is!&#8217; The gate was opened, and when I went over the first heaven, I saw Adam<br>there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel said to me<\/strong>: &#8216;This is your father, Adam; pay him your greetings.&#8217; So I greeted him<br>and he returned the greetings to me and<strong> said:<\/strong> &#8216;You are welcomed, O pious son and pious Prophet.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Miraj_%E2%80%93_Muhammad%E2%80%99s_encounter_with_John_and_Jesus_Hadith\"><\/span><em>Miraj<\/em> &#8211; Muhammad&#8217;s encounter with John and Jesus (Hadith)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Then Gabriel ascended with me till we reached the second heaven. Gabriel asked for the gate to<br>be opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>It was asked:<\/strong> &#8216;Who is it?&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Gabriel answered<\/strong>: &#8216;Gabriel.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>It was asked<\/strong>: &#8216;Who is accompany you?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel replied,<\/strong> &#8216;Muhammad.&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It was asked:<\/strong> &#8216;Has he been called?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel answered<\/strong> in the affirmative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Then it was said:<\/strong> &#8216;He is welcomed. What an excellent visit his is!&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gate was opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> &#8220;When I went over the second heaven, here I saw John (Yahya) and Jesus (Isa), who were cousins of each other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel said to me<\/strong>: &#8220;These are John and Jesus; pay them your greetings.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> So I greeted them and both of them returned my greetings to me <strong>and said<\/strong>, &#8216;You are<br>welcomed, O pious brother and pious Prophet.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Miraj_%E2%80%93_Muhammad%E2%80%99s_encounter_with_Joseph_Hadith\"><\/span><em>Miraj<\/em> &#8211; Muhammad&#8217;s encounter with Joseph (Hadith)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Then Gabriel ascended with me to the third heaven and asked for its gate to be opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> IT was asked <\/strong>&#8216;Who is it?&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> And <strong>Gabriel replied<\/strong>: &#8216;Gabriel.&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It was asked<\/strong>, &#8216;Who is accompany you?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel replied,<\/strong> &#8216;Muhammad.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>It was asked,<\/strong> &#8216;Has he been called?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel replied in the affirmative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Then it was said<\/strong>: &#8216;He is welcomed, what an excellent visit his is!&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gate was opened, and when I went over the third heaven there I saw Joseph (Yusuf),<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Gabriel said to me: &#8216;This is Joseph, pay him your greetings.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> So I greeted him and he returned the greetings to me <strong>and said<\/strong>: &#8216;You are welcomed, O pious brother and pious Prophet.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Miraj_%E2%80%93_Muhammad%E2%80%99s_encounter_with_Enoch_Hadith\"><\/span>Miraj &#8211; Muhammad&#8217;s encounter with Enoch (Hadith)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Then Gabriel ascended with me to the fourth heaven and asked for its gate to be opened. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IT was asked<\/strong> &#8216;Who is it?&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Gabriel replied,<\/strong> &#8216;Gabriel&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>It was asked:<\/strong> &#8216;Who is accompany you?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel replied:<\/strong> &#8216;Muhammad.&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It was asked:<\/strong> &#8216;Has he been called?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel replied in the affirmative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then<strong> it was said:<\/strong> &#8216;He is welcomed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> what an excellent visit his is!&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The gate was opened, and when I went over the fourth heaven, there I saw Enoch (Idris),<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Gabriel said to me:<\/strong> &#8216;This is Enoch; pay him your<br>greetings.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> So I greeted him and he returned the greetings to me <strong>and said<\/strong>: &#8216;You are welcomed O<br>pious brother and pious Prophet.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Miraj_%E2%80%93_Muhammad%E2%80%99s_encounter_with_Aaron_Hadith\"><\/span>Miraj &#8211; Muhammad&#8217;s encounter with Aaron (Hadith)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Then Gabriel ascended with me to the fifth heaven and asked for its gate to be opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> It was asked:<\/strong> &#8216;Who is it?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel replied<\/strong>: &#8216;Gabriel.&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It was asked<\/strong>: &#8216;Who is accompany you?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel replied<\/strong> &#8216;Muhammad.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> It was asked:<\/strong> &#8216;Has he been called?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel replied in the affirmative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then <strong>it was said:<\/strong> &#8216;He is welcomed, what an excellent visit his is!&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So when I went over the fifth heaven, there I saw Aaron (Harun), <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel said to me:<\/strong> &#8220;This is Aaron; pay your greetings.&#8217; So I greeted him and he returned the greetings to me <strong>and said<\/strong>: &#8220;You are welcomed, O pious brother and pious<br>Prophet.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Miraj_%E2%80%93_Muhammad%E2%80%99s_encounter_with_Moses_Hadith\"><\/span>Miraj &#8211; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel replied<\/strong>: &#8216;Gabriel.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>It was asked<\/strong>: &#8216;Who is accompanying you?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel replied<\/strong>: &#8216;Muhammad.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>It was said<\/strong>: &#8216;Has he been called?&#8217; So I greeted him<br>and he returned the greetings to me <strong>and said:<\/strong> &#8220;You are welcomed, O pious brother and pious<br>Prophet.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> When I left him (Moses) he wept. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Someone asked him<\/strong>: &#8216;What makes you weep?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Moses said:<\/strong> &#8216;I weep because after me there has been sent (as Prophet) a young man whose followers will enter Paradise in greater numbers than my followers.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Miraj_%E2%80%93_Muhammad%E2%80%99s_encounter_with_Abraham_Hadith\"><\/span>Miraj &#8211; Muhammad&#8217;s encounter with Abraham (Hadith)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Then Gabriel ascended with me to the seventh heaven and asked for its gate to be opened. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It was asked:<\/strong> &#8216;Who is it?&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel replied:<\/strong> &#8216;Gabriel.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>It was asked:<\/strong> &#8216;Who is accompanying you?&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Gabriel replied:<\/strong> &#8216;Muhammad.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> It was asked:<\/strong> &#8216;Has he been called?&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Gabriel replied in the affirmative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Then it said<\/strong>: &#8216;He is welcomed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> What an excellent visit his is!&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;So when I went (over the seventh heaven), there I saw Abraham (Ibrahim). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel said to me<\/strong>: &#8216;This is your father; pay your greetings to him.&#8217; So I greeted him and he returned the greetings to me<strong> and said: <\/strong>&#8216;You are welcomed, O pious son and pious Prophet.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Then I was made to ascend to Sidrat-ul-Muntaha (the Lote Tree of the utmost boundary).<br>Behold! Its fruits were like the jars of Hajr (a place near Medina) and its leaves were as big as the<br>ears of elephants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Gabriel said<\/strong>: &#8220;This is the Lote Tree of the utmost and boundary.&#8217; Behold! There<br>ran four rivers, two were hidden and two were visible,<strong> I asked<\/strong>: &#8216;What are these two kinds of<br>rivers, O Gabriel?&#8217; <strong>He replied<\/strong>: &#8216;As for the hidden rivers, they are two rivers in Paradise and the<br>visible rivers are the Nile and the Euphrates.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Moses_advises_Muhammad_to_plea_to_Allah_to_lessen_prayers\"><\/span>Moses advises Muhammad to plea to Allah to lessen prayers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Then Al-Bait-ul-Ma&#8217;mur (the Sacred House) was shown to me and a container full of wine and<br>another full of milk and a third full of honey were brought to me. I took the milk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Gabriel remarked<\/strong>: &#8216;This is the Islamic religion which you and your followers are following.&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then the prayers were enjoined on me: they were fifty prayers a day. When I returned, I passed by Moses, who <strong>asked me;<\/strong> &#8216;What have you been ordered to do?&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> I replied<\/strong>: &#8216;I have been ordered to offer fifty prayers a day.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Moses said<\/strong>: &#8216;Your followers cannot bear fifty prayers a day, and by Allah I have<br>tested people before you, and I have tried my level best with Bani Israel in vain. Go back to your<br>Lord and ask for reduction to lessen your followers&#8221; burden.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> So I went back, and Allah reduced ten prayers for me. Then again I came to Moses, but he repeated the same as he had said before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Then again I went back to Allah, and He reduced ten more prayers.
