Stability of Brain Cells

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Brain:

Undoubtedly, stability of a person’s character and personality is a priceless Divine Blessing that is recognized and appreciated only by a few. This is because all kinds of cells of the human body are subject to renewal and change every 5-7 years. This includes cells of bones, tissues, muscles, organs, apparatuses, and even the hair or any other kinds of cells. In other words, every seven years at most, you become a completely new and different person in body. No single old cell remains unchanged in your body: your bones change, and so do your skin and hair. The cells that have the shortest life are those, which constitute tissues of fluffs of the intestines, which are changed completely every 48 hours. In other words, every 48 hours, you have new internal fluffs in your intestines. The cells that have the longest life are those that live for 5-7 years. This means that every five or seven years, you change completely.

What is the purpose of these blessings?

However, if your brain were to change, you would forget everything: your job, your specialization, your family and children, your relatives and acquaintances, your memories, your experiences, your friends, your wife, and even your own self. Yes, indeed! You would forget everything, even yourself. But due to Allah’s Infinite Divine Wisdom and Mercy, the brain cells never change; otherwise human life would be catastrophic, and people would say: “I used to be a doctor but now I know nothing”, “I used to be an engineer”, “I used to be an orator”, “I used to be a businessman”, “but now I am nothing! I know nothing!” Yes, indeed! If the brain cells were to change every now and then, man would forget even his own personality or character. Therefore, stability of the brain cells is, indeed, One of Allah’s innumerable Blessings that He, Glory to Him, bestows upon mankind, but only a few are those who are aware of it. To this effect, Allah, All Mighty, says,

“And how many a Sign in the heavens and the earth they pass by while they are averse from them.” [XII; 105]

He, Most Gracious, also says, “And most of them believe not in Allah except that they associate partners with Him.” [Ibid; 106]
